Final Developement

1:1 Scaled model

Here's some image of the 1:1 scaled model i did for last week's class. after making it out, i realize it 's alil different with the cardboard model i made.it 's a lot wider than i thought, so i decide to further refine my design before making it in xanita board.

A very interesting cardboard chair design i found randomly when browsing for inspiration.

Concept developement - Cardboard model IDEA1

Here's the cardboard model of the design i chosen, IDEA1, due to the locking system yet to be accomplish, i used super flue to get the shape out. This will be the only design i approach the requirement of "3D form" chair from Justin.

hConcept Developement - Cardboard model IDEA3

This is a design that doesn't fit the requirement of 3D look chair. From the model could see its a lil dodgy, and not well considered piece of design. This chair only use slot in as it's locking system.

Concept developement - Cardboard model IDEA2

Flat sheet

Here 's my cardboard model for IDEA2, i took a few shots on different angle of the model. After week 9 class, Justin mention that he would more prefer 3Dimensional look design, so i guess i ll just give up working on this design as its very 2D feeling design. As shown before, if you realize, most of my designs are all made in 1 piece of Xanita board. Structure wise this design needs more pieces to support, as the locking is not enough to hold a 150kgs people.

Chosen Spot- 100% design tokyo - REGZA BAR

A video clip i found in http://www.100percentdesign.jp/english/index.htm , area that i would blend my piece of furniture into.instead of using long bench chair for coffe and bar area.. i think stool chair is more convenient as stool chairs can be flexibly move around the bar than a bench chair.

Design consideration

After a series of research on the event, the following is a list of design constraints that need to be considered while designing the chair:

- Seat one person up to 150kgs
- Lightweight.
- Portable.
- Sustainable
- Variety of locking systems
- Design apply to the event
- Cost effective
- Comply with Australian standards and ergonomic dimensions
- Design blends with the event
- simplicity
- Easy to recycle
- Brand ready
- Easy to self assemble

Esquisse four

a lil miscalculation on this part

This fourth esquisse required us to create a hollow cube using Xanita Board. i've googled a lilttle about cuttings on xanita board, and found some very common way of cutting the board. but if with further develope mixing the cutting would create very unique forms. i'm using something bigger size, 14 inches x 6 inches to try out. As for the locking system, this cube uses a dovetail joint for a stronger hold.
